The Space:
Named for our frequent visitors, Heron Cove is an historic three-story town home boasting spectacular water views from the floor-to-ceiling riverside windows on each floor. Enjoy the spacious outdoor patio and expansive balconies - also with cozy outdoor seating and dining -on the second and third floors. On the first floor is a living room, dining area, powder room and chef’s kitchen. Step out of the sliding glass kitchen doors onto a spacious patio featuring a gourmet gas grill framed by a stunning river backdrop. On the second floor is the guest room, an adjacent bath, a beautifully appointed office area and exercise equipment. On inclement weather days walk or run on the treadmill while watching the river and its bountiful nature. A bird watchers dream!
Take the carpeted stairs to the third floor and enter the star of Heron Cove, a romantic master ensuite featuring cathedral ceilings, your private riverside balcony and a luxurious master bath with a rain shower and clawfoot tub. Sip morning coffee from your bedside perch or your private balcony, while absorbing the tranquil beauty of the river with its diving mergansers, flocks of buffleheads, soaring eagles and, of course, the great blue heron. Guests have access to the entire home with outdoor patio and dining area, two balconies , backyard, garden and creekside deck with table and chairs. Included are two bicycles and two kayaks, life jackets and helmets.
Note: In late summer the water in the creek inlet to the river can be low, and not easily accessible by boat from the backyard. If you are able to transport the boats there is a nice put-in spot at Bull Island State Park, about five miles up river along River Road.
Other things to note
Heron Cove offers direct access to the river and terrific views from all three floors and decks. If the water level is high enough for boat access, guests can enjoy kayaking the Delaware River with "put in" and "take out" from the property's backyard.
